Are You in Fat Burning Mode or Fat Storing Mode?
Here is more good news on how to be successful at natural weight management. You can avoid making the mistakes that others make who go on "diets". They usually end up loosing water and muscle weight at first, only to find that the weight not only returns, but is replaced with fat weight. How can you avoid this?
Successful Weight Management - Stage 3
First, you must understand, as stated last time, don't "go on a diet", but upgrade to a permanent healthy eating program. Don't starve yourself, just give your body the nutrition it needs to function properly.
Secondly, you must get out of a fat storing mode and get into a fat burning mode. How do you do that? EXERCISE! Eating is only half of the battle of successful weight management, no matter what the fad diets may say. You must also incorporate a good permanent exercise program into your daily schedule to get into this fat burning mode and stay in it! It won't happen automatically. It will take conscious planning on your part. You rarely need to consciously remind yourself to eat, but there is no stomach growling or other reminder when you need to exercise, so it takes a conscious effort to remember yourself.
Here are some suggestions:
- Schedule a time of day of at least 30 minutes to exercise. A brisk walk is still the best form of exercise. It works all body parts, especially if you swing your arms as you are walking. Walking does not cost money and most that do walk tend to stick with it longer because it is more convenient and less boring than other forms of exercising. Plus you get the benefits of a little bit of sunshine that you need.
- Incorporate natural forms of exercise into your daily routine. For instance, walk or bike to the mailbox or to the neighbors. Pull your weeds or push a lawn mower instead of hiring it done or doing it with a riding mower. Bike or walk to your date night dinner. After a few hours of sitting at home, stand up, stretch out, run in place for a few minutes to energize you and burn some fat. List some ways you could incorporate natural forms of exercise into your schedule.
- Seek out some hiking trails and enjoy the great outdoors on a regular basis. There is so much to gain in being out in nature. A good hike is such a great body workout that can be so regenerating and fulfilling.
- Be consistent! Schedule it, just like you do your meals, and stick to it. Remember, exercise is half of the weight management battle in order to stay in fat burning mode!
You always feel better after a good form of exercise, and your body will be healthier and stronger in the process. You can do it! So Do It!
To a Healthier Lifestyle,

Food for Thought:Those Wonderful Sprouts!
|
|
Sprouts are a wonderful food! They add lots of crunch and flavor to any sandwich, salad, or burrito. Sprouts are full of nutrition and really increase the vitamin and mineral content to anything you eat. Alfalfa sprouts are even good to just snack on. Babies and young children usually love eating alfalfa sprouts by the handfuls.
Growing sprouts is super simple too. You can go from seed to food in 1-6 days depending on the seed sprouted. The Sprout Master makes it so easy and convenient, and once you get started, you'll want to keep several varieties growing at once.
Check out The Sprout Master and seeds below! For a complete sprouting guide, see Enjoy Nature’s Harvest too!
